Welcome
Lyne and Longcross Nursery with Forest School
Mission Statement
To provide a safe and stimulating environment, both in Nursery and Forest School, where children begin to build the skills, in play and learning, which lay firm foundations for their future education.
To know each child well and gain an understanding of their interests and strengths, acknowledging parents as their children’s first educators.
In September 2004 Ofsted approved the opening of a nursery at Lyne and Longcross. The Governors run the Nursery as they do the School, and staff from the Nursery work closely with the School staff. Not all children coming to the School attend Nursery first. The Nursery team are qualified and experienced. Ofsted has since revisited the Nursery and endorsed the practice as “outstanding”.
We give our children the best start to their education, and ensure that they leave our Nursery as confident youngsters who are eager to learn.
The Nursery provides a stimulating and secure environment for your child.
The Nursery is made up of:
- Caterpillars Class - younger children
- Butterflies Class - pre-schoolers
The Nursery follows the Early Years Foundation Stage for our 2-4 year olds, and each child is allocated a key-person.
The setting provides a stimulating yet secure environment for the youngest members of the school.
Children wear a uniform, which complements the school uniform.
The Nursery largely follows the school term dates, with some slight variations.
