Junior Leadership Team

Meet our Junior Leadership Team!

Meet out Junior Leadership Team for the 2023-2024 academic year. We have been meeting regularly and discussing plans for a charity event and some potential changes we hope to see at our school during the Autumn term. As well as making decisions as a team, we report back to our classes and discuss key points and questions we would like further input in. Our classes also help us vote and decide on final decisions too.

The voting process - Democracy Day!

On Sepetmber 10th we all came together as a school to enjoy Democracy Day; there was lots of voting!

Firstly, we had to decide on two representatives from each class that we would like in the school's junior leadership team. This was a new committee this year and replaced our previous 'Eco Team' and 'School Council'.

We then had to decide on two year 6 students who were going to lead our Junior Leadership Team as the 'Chairs'. On the lead up to democracy day, a selected 7 year six students campaigned for the role and gave speeches to the school. All students then voted on their two ideal candidates in our 'Polling Station'.

Congrats to Seb and Henry who our school voted for as our Junior Leadership Chairs.

Meeting 28/9/23

Our first meeting! We all introduced ourselves and the year groups we are from and met our two chairs who will lead future meetings. We discussed the idea of a charity event we would like to host before Christmas and any possible adaptations we hope to make to the school. We had lots of ideas and this acted as an initial ideas discussion, meaning Miss Mayger and Miss Neilson could do some planning and see if our plans could be put into action.

Meeting 5/10/23

Our first meeting led by our chairs Henry and Seb! We took a pause on our charity event talks as our teacher senior leadership team asked us to write some new prayers. We have talked as a group to write one for before lunch, in collective worship and at the end of the day. Once the prayers get approved, we look forward to including them in our daily routines.

Event 7/12/23 Christmas decoration charity event

We were so excited to welcome our parents into the classrooms to show them the amazing Christmas decorations we've all been making. We asked for donations to buy them which will go towards White Lodge and Child Action Lanka.
