Welcome to Rabbits Class
with Mrs Symonds, Mrs Mason,
Mrs Brindley and Mrs Spragg
Welcome to Rabbits, we are looking forward to you all joining us and starting the academic year together.
Below are some helpful sections we hope that you find them useful and if you have any questions or queries please feel free to email me firstname.lastname@example.org.
PE & Forest School will not begin for the first week as it is important to use this time for the children to settle. These sessions will become part of our regular timetable from Monday 13th September.
PE- Our PE Day is Wednesday and the children are to attend school in their PE kit which they will stay in for the day. Plimsoles are needed for when we are in the hall and doing our dance and gymnastics. For the first part of the autumn term we will try and use the outdoor areas as much as possible so trainers can be worn.
Forest School - Forest School will be on a Monday and children are to come in their forest school clothes (clothes that you don't mind getting wet and dirty!). Please make sure that they have an extra bag with spares including shoes and socks, layers depending on the weather and waterproofs. In the winter wellies are not suitable as they do not have the correct grip and they are not warm enough.
Uniform- We ask that in the winter, children are to leave their blazers at home and just wear thick coats. There is not enough room on the pegs for both.
Reading- We aim to read in class with the children once a week and this will be recorded in their reading records so please make sure that they are in school everyday. When you read at home, please date and sign in the reading record and then we will know to change the books if we need to.
When the children are reading pink, red and yellow books we ask for them to read it twice before it is signed by an adult. Once for segmenting and blending purposes and the second time to embed learning and to understand the text.
More information about how reading will be introduced will be given on a newsletter after the settling in period.

Other useful information
Soon you will be set up on Tapestry. Please follow this link to access your child's learning journey. You will receive notifications when a new observation has been added for your child. You can also use Tapestry to upload observations, learning and activities from home that you would like the adults to see.
At the end of the year we will make a copy of your child's learning journey available to you.
We can't wait to share what your child has done at school with you.
