Useful Information

PE- Our PE day is Wednesday. Children are to attend school in their PE kit which they will stay in for the day. Plimsoles are needed for when we are in the hall and doing our dance and gymnastics. For the first part of the autumn term we will try and use the outdoor areas as much as possible so trainers can be worn.

Forest School - Forest School will be on a Monday and children are to come in their forest school clothes (clothes that you don't mind getting wet and dirty). Please make sure that they have an extra bag with spares including shoes and socks, layers depending on the weather and waterproofs. In the winter wellies are not suitable as they do not have the correct grip and they are not warm enough.

Reading- We read with the children twice a week in groups and we have a different focus for each session. Session 1: Decoding & Session 2: Prosody and Comprehension. The children will begin by reading wordless books to develop their skills before moving onto books that are phonetically decodable as soon as they are able to blend.

More information about reading and phonics will be presented in a meeting during the autumn term and key information will be shared when needed on the weekly home learning.

Tapestry

You will have a log in to Tapestry and as your children have 'WOW' moments, we will upload and share them with you. You are able to comment on the observation should you wish.

At the end of the year, we will send you a link to download your child's learning journey in Reception. We hope that you enjoy seeing a little bit of what your child gets up to in Rabbits!

We use Marvellous Me to let you know that your child has done something that is indeed Marvellous! Children can earn different badges and certificates and it is also an easy way of communicating important messages home.
