Welcome to Rabbits Class
with Miss Symonds, Mrs Mason,
Mrs Brindley and Mrs Spragg
Welcome to Rabbits, we have enjoyed meeting you all this week and are looking forward to our first few weeks together.
Below are some helpful sections we hope that you find them useful and if you have any questions or queries please feel free to email me csymonds@lyne.surrey.sch.uk.
Useful Information
PE & Forest School will start the week beginning 14th September.
PE- Our PE day is a Friday. Children are to come into school in their PE kits and they will stay in this for the day. In colder months, please make sure that they have the school sweat shirt and jogging bottoms. In reception, we ask for plimsoles without laces.
Forest School - Forest School will be on a Thursday and children are to come in their forest school clothes (clothes that you don't mind getting wet and dirty!). Please make sure that they have an extra bag with spares including shoes and socks, layers depending on the weather and waterproofs. In the winter wellies are not suitable as they do not have the correct grip and they are not warm enough.
Uniform- We ask that in the winter, children are to leave their blazers at home and just wear thick coats. There is not enough room on the pegs for both.
Reading- We aim to read in class with the children once a week and this will be recorded in their reading records so please make sure that they are in school everyday. When you read at home, please date and sign in the reading record and then we will know to change the books if we need to.
When the children are reading pink, red and yellow books we ask for them to read it twice. Once for segmenting and blending purposes and the second time to embed learning and to understand the text.

Tapestry
Soon you will be set up on Tapestry. Please follow this link to access your child's learning journey. You will receive notifications when a new observation has been added for your child. It would be lovely to see the wonderful learning that your child is doing at home too. We will show you how to upload observations for your child.
Autumn 1 - We will upload observations to record the learning that your child is able to do when they begin their time in Rabbits.
Autumn 2 until Summer 2 - We will upload one observation per fortnight which will show the learning that the child is doing, how the adult has extended their learning as well as the outcome.
At the end of the year we will make a copy of your child's learning journey available to you.
We can't wait to share what your child has done at school with you.
