Class Information

Please find the year 2 curriculum letter below for you to read and as always please come in and see me anyday after school if you have any questions or concerns.

We are excited to offer a range of experiences in Year 2 and if you have any questions at all please don't hesitate to ask myself or Mrs Davison (Monday - Tuesday) and Mrs Wassell (Wednesday - Friday) before or after school. If this is not possible for whatever reason and it is urgent, you may also leave a message with the member of staff on the gate in the morning before school.

My PPA (Planning Preparation and Assessment) release time will take place on Tuesday (either a.m. or p.m). During this time Mrs Rice will be covering my class. I am working closely with her to make sure that any messages etc. are carried over the course of the day. She will be following my planning and she will be able deal with any concerns that you may have. If you need to speak to me personally then I will be in the staff room during this time. .

Curriculum Information

Please take a look at the curriculum jigsaw below. This is a document that changes each half term. It will give you an overview of all the exciting activities taking place in Year 2.

Home Learning

Home Learning tasks or games will be sent home every Friday and are due back in school the following Wednesday. A set of five spellings will also be sent home every Friday in a spelling book. The book will contain ideas to help your child learn their spellings and they will be given space to learn their spellings in the front of the book. Every child will then be tested on their spellings the following Friday in the back of their book and given a mark out of five. Please don't hesitate to ask if you have any questions.

Physical Education

P.E will take place every Wednesday and Friday afternoon. Please ensure your child has a full P.E kit  with their correct house coloured T-shirt in school at all times. Earrings must be removed and hair that is longer than shoulder length must be tied up. If your child's ears have recently been pierced and cannot be removed, unfortunately, for safety reasons, they will be unable to do P.E. until they are able to remove them. Their P.E kit will be sent home to be washed at every half term break. Please don't hesitate to ask if you have any questions.

Wellie Rack

Please bring in a named pair of wellies to leave at school on our wellie rack as soon as possible. This is now a compulsory part of the school's uniform policy and will allow the class to access the school grounds and the Forest School site no matter the weather. Thank you for your continued support. Please don't hesitate to ask if you have any questions.

Forest School

Your child will attend Forest School every other Wednesday afternoon up until Christmas. Please check you child's book bag to make sure you have a full set of Forest School clothes  that is appropriate to the weather in school on the correct date. Thank you for your continued support. Please don't hesitate to ask if you have any questions.
