    Funding Breakdown

    Extra-Curricular Opportunities

    £9,910

Funding was used to provide additional physical activity opportunities beyond curriculum PE, including targeted physical activity interventions, structured lunchtime sporting opportunities, participation in competitive sporting events and subsidised access to outdoor adventurous activities for pupils who would otherwise have been unable to participate.

    External Coaching Staff

    £3,408

S4K was commissioned to deliver targeted physical activity interventions and structured sporting opportunities. Provision was reviewed during the year and subsequently replaced with an internally delivered intervention model to better meet pupil need and improve long-term sustainability.

    Equipment and Resources

    £2,207.04

A variety of playground and physical activity resources were purchased to increase pupil engagement in active play during breaktimes and lunchtimes. Resources were selected to encourage participation in physical activity, promote positive social interaction and support healthy, active lifestyles.

    Top-Up Swimming and Aquatic Opportunities

    £1,294.96

Additional swimming coaching, top-up swimming lessons and associated resources were provided for pupils who had not yet achieved the expected National Curriculum standard in swimming and water safety.

    Professional Development

    £900

The school invested in Active Surrey membership and associated professional development opportunities to strengthen staff knowledge and enhance the quality of PE, sport and physical activity provision.

    Impact Summary

The funding enabled the school to:

    • Increase participation in physical activity during breaktimes and lunchtimes.
    • Provide targeted support for pupils who found engagement in playground activities challenging.
    • Improve access to sporting opportunities beyond the taught curriculum.
    • Increase participation in outdoor adventurous activities.
    • Remove barriers to participation for some pupils through targeted financial support.
    • Enhance active play provision through a wider range of playground resources.
    • Support pupils requiring additional swimming intervention.
    • Improve staff knowledge and expertise through professional development opportunities.
    • Strengthen links with local sports organisations and sporting opportunities.

As a result, pupils benefited from increased opportunities to be physically active throughout the school day and were able to access a broader range of sporting and outdoor learning experiences.

    Sustainability Plan

The school has focused on ensuring that improvements made through PE and Sport Premium funding have a lasting impact.

To sustain improvements, the school will:

    • Continue to utilise purchased playground resources to support active play and physical activity across the school.
    • Maintain structured lunchtime physical activity provision through internally delivered interventions.
    • Build upon staff knowledge and expertise developed through Active Surrey professional development.
    • Continue to provide opportunities for participation in sport, competition and outdoor adventurous activities.
    • Maintain improved systems for identifying and supporting pupils who require additional swimming intervention.
    • Continue to promote physical activity as part of the school's wider commitment to wellbeing, inclusion and healthy lifestyles.

This approach will ensure that the benefits of the funding continue beyond the period in which it was received.

    Year 6 Swimming Data (2025–26)

Swimming Outcome Percentage of Year 6 Pupils
Swim competently, confidently and proficiently over a distance of at least 25 metres 71%
Use a range of strokes effectively 71%
Perform safe self-rescue in different water-based situations 71%

    Commentary

Current records indicate that 71% of pupils met the expected swimming and water safety standards by the end of Key Stage 2.

The school recognises that swimming data was previously collected and reported as a whole-cohort measure rather than tracking individual national curriculum outcomes separately. As a result, more precise recording procedures have now been implemented.

Pupils who did not meet the expected standard include children who joined the school after curriculum swimming had taken place, alongside pupils who accessed additional top-up swimming provision but did not yet achieve the required standard despite further support.

Tracking procedures have been strengthened for the current Year 6 cohort, enabling more accurate recording of individual swimming outcomes and more effective targeting of support for pupils requiring additional intervention.
