  • Welcome to the Nursery!

We are so pleased that you have taken some time to explore the magical hands on learning that happens in our Nursery and to find out a bit about us.

We welcome children aged between 2½ - 4 years old in our Nursery, with either FEET funding or government funded hours.

Lyne and Longcross Nursery is a Section 27 Provision and is run by the Governing Body. In association with the Nursery teacher, the Nursery support staff and the school head teacher, the Governors help provide the best possible education and care for our children and carry out a number of other important duties and responsibilities.

    These include:

    • Setting the Nursery’s values, vision and strategic aims, agreeing plans and policies, making creative use of resources and determining how the Nursery budget is spent.
    • Monitoring and evaluating performance and working with the Headteacher and Nursery teacher to challenge and support in the management of the Nursery.
    • Ensuring that the Nursery is accountable to the children and parents that it serves, also to its local community, to those who fund and maintain it as well as the staff it employs.
    • Keeping up to date with national and local agendas.

Governors make regular visits to Nursery, support events, meet staff and keep up to date with what is happening in the Nursery itself.
