Curriculum Overviews
Below you will find the curriculum overviews for Year 3. In this, you will find a brief outline of what we will be learning in Year 3 across the year. Each term is broken down accordingly and a short outline of the children's learning for each term is listed.
PE
Our PE days are Wednesdays and Thursdays. Please ensure children have warm PE clothes as we will be outside even when it is cold.
Children should wear their full school PE kit into school on our PE days. If the weather is totally unsuitable for outside PE we will still have access to the school hall for PE lessons.
During the autumn term we will have swimming lessons on a Friday which will replace one of our PE lessons in the week.
Forest School
Children will be split into two groups (morning session and afternoon sessions which will alternate per forest school day) and the children get to spend half the day learning in our beautiful outdoor setting each time.
This year, our forest school sessions will be:
Wednesday 7th October
Wednesday 14th October
Wednesday 6th January
Wednesday 13th January
Wednesday 20th January
Wednesday 27th January
Wednesday 3rd February
Please ensure children have warm Forest School clothing. This must include long sleeved tops and bottoms to protect themselves whilst in Forest School. They will need to have full waterproof clothing and Wellington boots/waterproof boots in the event of wet weather.
Home learning
This will be sent home on a Friday to be returned on a Wednesday.
Home learning will be completed in CGP books for Maths and English. The children will also need to be reading at home with an adult for at least 10 minutes every day and will need to spend some time practising their times tables at home. There are some great websites for them to use below:
